Frequently Asked Questions about Our Stock Trading Systems and Subscriptions |
Q: What do you do with the e-mail address I give you when I subscribe?
A: We use the e-mail address subscribers give us to send our trading signal e-mails and
updates about the website. We will not sell or distribute the e-mail address you give
us to others. See our privacy policy statement for more information.
Q: How do I unsubscribe from the free stock newsletter?
A: Unsubscribing is easy. Just send us an e-mail, or reply to any of our e-mails,
and your e-mail address will be removed from our list promptly.
Q: How do I unsubscribe from the daily trading system service?
A: We discuss how to cancel depending on payment method and provide a link for cancelling through PayPal at the bottom of our subscription information page.
Q: What kinds of information do you use to arrive at your trading signals?
A: The only factors that feed into the process that generates our stock
trading signals are price and volume history (and functions thereof). The rules
themselves are determined by looking over large sets of stocks for long periods of time
(relative to the usual trading horizon).
Q. Have you tested your systems on periods longer than the 7/99 to 11/01 period you
describe in your trading systems page?
A: Yes. We have tested our results on data back to the 1980s. In general, our systems are based
on principles that have been demonstrated in various ways by others in the finance literature
that have looked at much longer time periods.
Q: Your systems use only technical and statistical critera. What about fundamental factors?
A: We believe that good mechanical trading systems should be profitable without
screening on fundamental factors. However, fundamental analysis and mechanical trading rules
can be used
to complement each other. For example, one can take trades based on mechanical trading signals
only when fundamental factors are favorable for the company. Of course, this can take
the objectivity out of the mechanical system which, for some, is the main
benefit of using them.
